Day 1 Arrival – Tirana Airport – Tirana – Mullet Village
Depending on the time of the arrival in Tirana, we may do a short city tour before or after check-in at the hotel. Begin the Tour of Tirana City. It starts with a visit at Skanderbeg Square, followed by a stop at the Mosque of Et`hem Bey, built-in 1793. The Opera House (National Theatre of Opera and Ballet) looks over Scanderbeg Square. A walk in the main boulevard provides a close sight of the City Hall and a number of Governmental buildings Continue with the newly opened Atonic bunker, the Bunk’art2 museum in Tirana opened to the public describing it as a museum throwing light on political persecution during the Albanian communist era. The museum – called Bunk’Art 2 – is also intended as a memorial to the tens of thousands of people who were imprisoned and executed by the communist regime. Continue to Mullet Village. Day 2- Mullet – Petrela – Kruja
After breakfast, we will see the daily morning farm work with the Farm people. Continue to the famous Petrela Castle, which controlled the crossroads with economic and military importance such as the Via Egnatia, built by Romans in 2-nd century B.C. Continue to Kruja – the “City of history” and the best known as the hometown of Albanian’s National Hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Visit the Castle, Skanderbeg Museum and Ethnographic Museum. After the visit to the castle, is free for you to explore Kruja’s old bazaar with authentic and antique shops. Overnight in Emiliano Guest House in Kruja.
Day 3 – Kruja – Lezha – Fishte
After breakfast, we drive towards Lezha. Visit Scanderbeg Mausoleum in St. Nicolai Cathedral. Drive up to Old Castle of Lisus. Afterward drive through the countryside, by Rraboshta and Kallmet to reach Fishta village, where is located the famous Agrotourism “Mrizi I Zanave”. Visit the farm and winery. Eat lunch at “Mrizi I Zanave” restaurant, by tasting different Albanian dishes produced by organic food. Overnight in the Old House of “Mrizi, I Zanave”, enjoying the view of plain farmland from the hilltop.
Day 4 – Fishte – Razem – Boge – Theth
After breakfast, we drive towards Albanian Alps. On the way, we visit Razma village and make some photo stops in Boga and Qafe Thore. Arrive in Theth and be accommodated in Guest House. Eat a traditional dinner prepared by the Guest House family.
Day 5 – Theth
After breakfast, we take a walking tour in Thethi valley surrounded by huge mountains and visit the Thethi’s Church, built in the XVIII century, and the Blood feud Tower. Continue hiking to Grunas Water Fall. Then drive to Nderlysaj village and start hiking to Blue Eye. Afterward, drive back to Theth. Overnight in Guest House in Theth.
Day 6 – Theth – Shkoder
After breakfast, we drive to Shkodra, a city of considerable Italian and Austrian influence and also an important center of Albania’s Roman Catholic population. Visit the Venetian mask factory. Afterward, visit Rozafa castle from where spectacular views all around can be admired and the feel of supremacy the Illyrians would have had over their enemies standing in such an imposing castle. Drive back to the center, where we will take a walk in town through the beautifully restored pedestrian area of Italian architectural influences and will visit the Roman Catholic Cathedral, one of the few in the country prior to the abolition of faith by the communist regime in 1967. Day 7 – Shkoder – Koman lake – Bajram Curri – Valbona
This morning after an early breakfast we make our way to Koman to take the ferry to Fierza in Tropoja region bordering Kosovo. The building of a hydropower station on Albania’s biggest river, Drin, has created the artificial lake of Koman, with a wonderful opal green watercolor, while surrounded by the high Rocky Mountains. If you didn’t know that you were in North Albania you could very well assume you were in a Norwegian Fjord, as the panoramas of this two-hour navigation are simply breathless. After getting off the ferry there will be a 1-hour drive to arrive at Valbona valley which stands almost back to back with Theth, which we visited 2 days ago. The accommodation and meals here are of the same style as Theth in villagers’ homes structured to offer clean and comfortable lodgings for visitors who love nature. Walking in Valbona valley will be a refreshing experience at the end of your day, enjoying Albanian Alps. Overnight at Guest House Bujtina Polia.
Day 8 – Valbona – Prizren – Rubik
After breakfast we drive back to the town of Bajram Curri, cross the border to Kosovo and make a stop in Gjakova town. Sightseeing the town and bazaar. Then later we will drive to the City of Prizren. After lunch, we start the tour of Prizren including the league of Prizren museum, the old town of Prizren; Stone bridge. Drive to Albania, crossing the border in Qafe Morine, continue to Rubik. Overnight in Marubi hotel
Day 9 – Rubik – Rodon Cape – Duka Winery – Huqi Agrotourism
After breakfast we are heading towards Lalzi Bay, drive on the rolling hills by the Adriatic coastline, enjoying the view, till you reach Cape or Rodon, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and relaxation, with castles and churches infused with fascinating histories. Visit Skanderbeg Castle and the Church of St. Anthony. Drive to Duka Winery to have a wine tasting and winery tour. Eating lunch in the Duka Restaurant located by a lake surrounded by vineyards will make the lunch an unforgettable experience. Then we drive to Huqi Agrotourism in the countryside where you are going to be accommodated, surrounded by a peaceful green environment
Day 10 – Huqi Agrotourism – Airport
After breakfast, we are leaving for Tirana International Airport.
